Sunsets

Sunsets...one of my all time favorite subjects to shoot. The color, light, and the many changes that can happen in a few minutes. When the light is right and you have clouds you can take some great shots. I just don't shoot the landscape at sunset, but the clouds. The two images you see here were taken just before a storm and the light was great. I used my 300mm to isolate a small section of clouds and took a number of shots as the light changed. So next time you are out shooting sunsets, take a look at the clouds. They hold magic and sometimes better than the whole grand sunset shot.

Great Lobelia

I love the colors of this beautiful flower. I found this one growing on the bank of the Mio pond. I could only get a good angle from a canoe. I happy how it turned out.

Sunset

This image was taken one summer evening. I had spent the day on the pond canoing. As afternoon wore on I noticed clouds starting to move in. So I decided to stay until sunset to see if I could get any good shots. I found a location and set up and waited. I did not have to wait long...as the sunset the sky started to glow. As you can s...ee by the image my decision to stay a little longer payed off.
