Sunset

Had a very busy day...
I decided to go get a few more shots of the Pink lady's Slipper.
I also spent a few hours doing some yard work and photographing around the yard. The rain Lilies are starting to bloom. I have the white kind and the are really beautiful.
The spiders are out and about and hungry. This Flower spider is making a meal out of this moth.
To end my day I went down to the pond in hopes of a great sunset, but the clouds moved in quick and was only able to get a few shots. Plus my new photo back pack came today and I love it.

Sunsets

Sunsets...one of my all time favorite subjects to shoot. The color, light, and the many changes that can happen in a few minutes. When the light is right and you have clouds you can take some great shots. I just don't shoot the landscape at sunset, but the clouds. The two images you see here were taken just before a storm and the light was great. I used my 300mm to isolate a small section of clouds and took a number of shots as the light changed. So next time you are out shooting sunsets, take a look at the clouds. They hold magic and sometimes better than the whole grand sunset shot.

Fall is Here

Once again I find myself sitting on the shore of the pond. The sun is low on the horizon and a gentle breeze is blowing. I relax to the sound of the small waves splashing on the shore. The birds are singing from the nearby trees and an Osprey is watching the water for a careless fish to swim along the surface.

I live for days like is…but fall is here and there won’t be many more days that I can sit in the warmth of a sunset. Soon the days will get shorter and colder, but that’s ok with me. I enjoy the cold and the snow.

Busy Day

Chasing honeybees and sunsets and planting my garden...that sums up my day.
